When I was told I had to write a profile for the website, I was terrified… not because I didn’t know what to say, but because I couldn’t possibly imagine how I could sum up myself, my life, my wonderful family, my career and this fantastic business in only 200 words… it’s nearly impossible, or so I thought.
The word ‘impossible’ doesn’t often appear in the Brilliant Stages vocabulary, but it doesn’t really have to. We have a fantastic team of industry experienced engineers coupled with a customer-base comprised of market leading individuals - all of whom understand the art of the ‘possible’ and are willing to collaborate in order to realise ambitious ideas, no matter how weird, wacky or ground-breaking they may be. That’s what makes my job so enjoyable. Sure, projects manufacturing is undoubtedly more complicated than a traditional widget manufacturing business, but that’s the challenge… projects are always confined by timescales, an element of the unknown and a budget, and working through all those 3 things is what my job is all about.
Wider Interests: My “get away” from work used to involve anything that had an engine, but nowadays it’s all about spending time with my family - Laura (tolerant , patient, caring, significant other half), Poppy (crazy, whirlwind eldest daughter, age 3) and Romy (cute, cuddly, youngest daughter, 3 months) – who are always supportive and encouraging of anything I choose to do. Obviously I am doing my upmost to ensure the girls enjoy motorbikes as much as I do, although it’s still unconfirmed as to whether I will succeed with that!

With a background in engineering, a career in project management and marketing, and a passion for being challenged, there is no better place than Brilliant to bring these words together.
My relationship with the group started over 8 years ago and in that time the change and progression has been frankly awe-inspiring, hypnotic and simply engaging.
Because of the above, this southern fairy is now a honorary Yorkshireman (if I can say such a thing) but I do have a Yorkshire lass as a daughter.
Wider Interests: My land rovers, wild camping, overlanding and generally the outdoors.

To date I have more than 40 years of experience in the entertainment industry. My career began as a precision fitter machinist with Kodak. After leaving Kodak in the earlier 70’s, I worked for various bands, as well as designing my own sound systems for the touring music industry and later joined RSD as the manager of their hire department.
In 1983, I teamed up with Charlie Kail to form Brilliant Stages, since then I have honed my problem-solving skills that have helped design some of the most complex and advanced engineering products used in the live events and entertainment industry today.
Career Highlight: Over the years, seeing dedicated teams grow into skilled and conscientious technicians, working all hours of to produce some of the most amazingly designed sets with the Brilliant logo on them... then receiving the praise they deserve from the client.
Anything with wheels and an engine... I still get a thrill from riding my F650...
I used to do a bit of fishing yet it’s been a while since I’ve had a tight line…

Having worked for over 27 years in the live events industry, I have developed a strong understanding of several market sectors, including; concert touring, theatre and musicals. I’ve had many roles in the past ranging from set builder, light technician, video creative and production manager which has allowed me to grow the skillset I need to tackle a range of different challenges.
Having such wide scope knowledge of our industry has helped me to understand our client’s needs. Talking with creatives and helping people realise their vision and ideas without compromise, yet trying to stay within budget can be challenge but one I always look forward to.
Career Highlight(s): The opening night of any show… all the elements coming together and seeing the magic happen is what it’s all about and still is after many years.
Wider Interests: My three wonderful daughters and my loving partner. Also sailing, surfing, hiking, camping and the outdoors in general… a nice change to being indoors in blacked out areas…

From a young age I’ve always had an interest in this industry which led to me studying for a degree in Music Technology and Sound Recording Techniques at Huddersfield University. I joined Brilliant Stages (then Litestructures) in 2006 and worked mainly in the rental department, preparing jobs and rigging stages around the world. In my spare time, I spent many hours helping out in Production Park Studio 001, gaining experience of all the different aspects of a production and concert touring. That led to me becoming, studio coordinator and then studio manager. I’ve now progressed into a senior Account Manager role for Brilliant Stages.
Career Highlight: Getting to meet and become friends with some of the most influential people in the industry.
Wider Interests: Spending time with my family, watching movies, dabbling in playing music (very badly these days) and just enjoying life to the max!

Originally I qualified as a design engineer, before going on to follow my passion for sound systems. I was a founding partner of a successful audio installation and rental business for over 20 years and became a member of the Institute of Sound & Communication Engineers (ISCE).
For the past 10 years, I’ve been involved in Business Development at Brilliant Stages, initially focussing on the trussing system side of the business (previously known as Litestructures), before becoming involved in projects around art, architecture, brand and motorsport.
Career Highlight(s): There’s too many to mention but some notable highlights include London Design Festival, Formula One and WEC projects, and I’ll never forget the Xbox project at Leicester Square… and I’m not finished yet!
Wider Interests: Music is still very important to me. Also, mountain biking and walking my dogs on the Yorkshire Moors never fails to reward me (we’re very lucky to live in God’s Own Country).

General Manager (The Scenic Labs)
I joined Brilliant Stages (then Litestructures) in 2006 as a Sales Engineer. Along with the then Sales Director, Lee Brooks, we were responsible for developing what was a fledgling special projects division. Over the next 3 – 4 years, the revenue from this division came to surpass that of the standard project side of the business and became the main focus of the UK operation.
Since then I have taken up a number of roles within the business, notably Head of Special Projects and Project Director.
In 2016, when all the founding businesses came together on one site, Production Park was launched, and I assumed the position of Project Director for the group, before becoming Head of Sales the following year.
In 2019 I became General Manager of the newly formed operation, The Scenic Labs, combining the resources of previous brands Litestructures, PSC and LS Live to create a scenically focused, agile, sustainable division to bolster the services offered by Brilliant Stages and Production Park.
Career Highlight(s): Lots but mostly being able to look back to those earlier days and being able to see what has been built up from all the efforts of the people around me and knowing I played a part in making this happen.
Wider Interests: Running, bouldering, family and travelling adventures.

Account Manager (The Scenic Labs)
I joined Brilliant Stages (then Litestructures) straight after leaving high school in 2003. I was using it as a stepping stone job until I joined the forces… but, several years later and you’ll still find me here! A couple of years after joining, I moved to the events side of the business where I learnt my strength of lifting decks. I then became hire coordinator in 2007, quoting on rental projects and overseeing their delivery. I’ve now progressed into an Account Manager role for Brilliant Stages (specifically the ‘SLABS’ – The Scenic Labs).
Wider Interests: Live music, watching motorbike racing, riding her motorbike (only when sunny!), beer festivals, Sailor Jerry Rum, camping in the rain and watching people fall over.
