Delta Tour

Mumford and Sons, fondly referred to as the Gentleman Of The Road, began their huge sixty-date worldwide tour in November 2018. The band travelled internationally in support of their new album, Delta, with dates in Europe, Australia and North America.

Brilliant Stages was approached by Stufish Entertainment Architects to create the aesthetic of the stage set. Not just any set, a ground-breaking show in the round.

Brilliant provided several large staging elements including; a Brilliant Stages main stage, adjustable screamers, 26 custom lighting pods and ‘tech’ bunkers.

The screamers were made to be adjustable in height and length with the ability to house a series of lighting units. They were also designed to be in a flat and raked formation, built up into the arena seating. We used a layered scaffolding technique as the substructure with our custom elements on top.

Each of the lighting pods were flown by two Kinesys Apex Hoists, allowing the lighting designers the freedom to create a range of different lighting formations and effects.

The ‘tech’ bunkers were situated stage-left and stage-right. With the show being in the round, the bunkers provided space for backline and crew members to operate beneath the stage during the show.

In total, Brilliant Stages designed, built and delivered the whole project in a busy 8-week period. Everything was produced specifically to be packed down easily and transported by road – 11 trucks – and air.

“The screamers proved to be quite a challenging piece of staging. They needed to be versatile, like a swiss-army knife.”

Jordan Whittemore, Project Manager at Brilliant Stages

Delta Tour was the fourth headlining concert tour by Mumford & Sons, in support of the album of the same name. It began on 16 November 2018 in Dublin, Ireland and concluded on 17 August 2019 in Greenwood Village, Colorado, United States.
