Our Story

Brilliant Stages Limited are world leaders in specialist stage set fabrication. Established in 1980, we began designing and building lightweight stage sets for fast set-up and compact storage that were robust and capable of withstanding the rigors of touring. Working for some of the biggest stars of the 80’s and 90’s including the Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, U2, Elton John, Sting, Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Pink Floyd, Tina Turner and Dire Straits, Brilliant Stages consolidated its reputation for reliable, high quality set design and construction.

The company has gone from strength to strength, diversifying widely to meet the challenges set by more complex and sophisticated staging requirements. In 1999, the TOMCAT Global Corporation acquired Brilliant Stages from Vari*Lite International. The two companies’ complementing capabilities have proven an excellent match, with results as diverse as the Millennium Dome Central Stage Show, a satellite test enclosure for Matra Marconi (Space), and a corporate stand for the Orange Arrows F1 Team.

We continue to employ impressive, up-to-date facilities and skilled staff to ensure we meet our customer’s highest expectations. Together with our highly proficient CAD department, we employ coded welders, state-of-the-art equipment and adaptable assembly techniques to provide a uniquely broad service to the entertainment industry. We design stage set solutions based on our own custom extrusions and fast connection systems developed from years of experience and client feed back. Our motion control, hydraulic and mechanically moving systems have been at the core of some of the biggest touring shows ever produced. Working with the worlds leading designers our in house project management teams turn dreams into reality.

Brilliant Stages client base extends to corporate presentations, internationally-renowned stage shows and broadcast events, in addition to major worldwide rock tours. Our systems and techniques have advanced in line with our expertise to offer a practical reality to the most elaborate concepts.
