Our relationship
with Princess Cruises started in the late 1990's. We have now made
sets for eight of their new ships. Like their new ship the Island
Princess most of the ships have up to four of our sets onboard. The
people from Princess Cruises are great to work with and the sets due
to their theatrical nature they are always fun to make. On a cruise
the theatres can change shows every few days so speed of assembly,
durability and breaking down to store as compactly as possible become
very important issues. Brilliant Stages use all the skills developed
from years of making touring sets to enable this to happen.
'Let's Rock',
a brand new show from Karen Bruce, was Brilliants fourth show for
the new ship Island Princess. Others are Welcome Aboard, Curtain Up
and Tribute. Shown above are photos taken at dress rehearsals for
'Tribute' in the amazing aft lounge.
Throughout
the first quarter of 2004 Brilliant built sets for three more new
Princess Cruises ships - Diamond Princess, Caribbean Princess &
Sapphire Princess. Starting with a new show - 'Pianoman', designed
by Tom Cluff followed by repeat sets of Karen Bruce's 'Let's Rock'
& Joe Ragey's 'Curtain Up' we then completed another new show
Caribbean Caliente designed by Jeremy Railton, and another version
of Pianoman.
During
the rest of the 2004 we built sets for the Island Princess, Sapphire
Princess, Diamond Princess, Sun Princess, Dawn Princess and finished
the year with the latin flavoured Caribbean Caliente set for the Golden
Princess.
